Born 1944. Raised on a farm near Cromer, Norfolk
Educated at Gresham's School
Worked for BBC for 30 years in various engineering jobs then became a freelance consultant in Broadcast Engineering operating in post communist Eastern Europe.
Mechanical Music
Following a lifelong fascination with player pianos, I became interested in the possibility of building a machine to convert music rolls into MIDI files for reproduction on Disklaviers and electronic keyboards.
This led to the development of a very simple system which has been further developed by others. Upwards of 10,000 rolls have been scanned using the system.
